The Missner Group Completes Renovation of Makowski’s Real Sausage Facility in Lansing, Illinois

Historic family-owned sausage maker celebrates new era of production with expanded, modernized operations

Chicago, IL – November 11, 2025 – The Missner Group has completed the renovation of Makowski’s Real Sausage facility, marking a significant milestone for the 100-year-old, family-owned sausage producer. The Lansing, Illinois project modernizes and expands the company’s production space, ensuring Makowski’s continues to serve the Chicagoland region with the quality and tradition that have defined its brand for generations. Makowski’s plans to move in and begin occupying the newly renovated facility in December.

The renovation encompassed approximately 32,000 square feet of industrial space, including major infrastructure, refrigeration, and mechanical system upgrades. The Missner Group also reconfigured production areas to enhance efficiency, improve workflow, and accommodate new food processing equipment. The project also included the build-out of office spaces at the adjacent warehouse, converting a vacant structure into functional storage and office space to support Makowski’s operations. The design and construction plan preserved the company’s historic identity while supporting its transition into a modern, USDA-inspected facility capable of increased output.
